Crystal Jade

Crystal Jade is part of a chain of restaurants with branches in Hong Kong as well as Jakarta and Saigon. It serves basically Shanghainese Dim Sum specialties, Sichuan noodles, and, in season, hairy crab. The food was good, but unexciting, with the best dishes being the Sichuan noodles and Shanghai soup dumplings. The hairy crab was bland, and the other dishes were adequate, but uninspiring. The 1989 Krug Clos du Mesnil was too oxidized for my tastes, but the 1990 was brilliant. It exhibited lots of brioche, Wheat Thin and citrus-like notes.
