Le Dôme

This turn of the century bistro in Montparnasse is my wife’s and my favorite seafood restaurant in Paris. It’s a wonderful spot for lunch and people watching. The oysters, which vary from season to season, are always spectacular, super-fresh and loaded with flavor. Following the oysters, we enjoyed two great dishes, the lobster salad and sole Meunière, whose freshness, purity and simplicity are remarkable. We washed all this down with an absolutely magnificent bottle of André Perret’s 2009 Condrieu Chery. Normally I choose one of their excellent Loire Valley whites, but I couldn’t pass this wine up since I had had it earlier in the week and I knew it was a fabulous wine.
