Olives

One of the ubiquitous branches of Todd English’s famed Olive restaurant, the food here is excellent, and I highly recommend it. The carppaccio of beef was superb, as was the Caesar salad and a terrific flatbread (in actuality a pizza) of fiery chicken sausage. Eveyrthing was beautiful to look at, loaded with flavor, and reasonably priced. Everything was washed down with a gorgeous bottle of white Graves, the 2004 Carbonnieux, which showed wonderful waxy, citrus notes, a crisp, dry style, and little evidence of wood (despite it being aged completely in oak barrels). This brilliant cuvée should age well.
