7 100-Point Wines From Wine Advocate Issue 237

Readers, rejoice—Issue 237 has arrived, and with it, nearly 4,000 tasting notes reported from wine regions the world over, with great values and brand new 100-pointers.

Luis Gutierrez has outdone himself again, tasting more wines from Argentina than ever before—topping his own personal best from his annual Argentina report in 2016. Not only did he review almost 1,300 wines, he made some fabulous discoveries: the first two wines from Argentina ever awarded 100-point scores by The Wine Advocate

Champagne is also in the headlines—our team was thrilled to get a peek at Stephan Reinhardt's latest report from the region, where he also awarded an inaugural 100-points. Pop a cork—we can finally wet our lips with a perfect-scoring Champagne.

Those are just three of the seven 100-pointers in our latest Issue. See what else made the cut:

"This is serious, austere, mineral, long, compact, harmonious and concentrated, yet it feels light and has that somewhat contradictory powerful elegance."

The long and pristinely delineated finish is breathtaking.

"Structured around beautifully velvety tannins on the palate, the wine is full-bodied, layered and immensely concentrated, yet it manages to remain weightless."

"This is definitely world-class and worth lying down, as it should develop further complexity in bottle."

"This is a game changer for the Sandrone family and for Barolo."

"The flavors linger in your mouth forever after you swallow."

"If I just could, I would marry the 2002 Cristal Rosé straightaway."
