New Subscription Prices to Take Effect February 1, 2022

Dear Subscribers,

Thanks to all of you for your loyalty over the years. Because of you, we’ve been able to weather COVID-19 as a business and as individuals. Site traffic even crept over three million page views annually at times during the pandemic. Throughout, we’ve held steadfast to our core principles of not accepting any advertising and kept our subscription rates as affordable as we could.

But as our team of reviewers has begun traveling again to bring you updates on the fascinating world of wine, it is clear that our costs have risen substantially. Air travel, lodging, automobile rentals, gasoline, dining and even the need for COVID tests all have contributed to a rise in our expenses. It is with deep reluctance that we’ve decided to raise our subscription rates to recoup a portion of those costs. The subscription price increase will take effect February 1, 2022.

We’re also earmarking a portion of the increase to improve your user experience, with more reliable servers, a revamped website, more reviewer videos and increased editorial content. We’ll be adding one or two additional reviewers this year and expanding our coverage accordingly.

Below are the price changes that will take place starting February 1, 2022.

Current Price
New Price
Monthly Personal Subscription
$13$15
Quarterly Personal Subscription
$32$37
1-Year Personal Subscription
$109$129
1-Year Commercial Subscription
$219$249

At $129 for an annual personal subscription, roughly $11 per month (a 35% savings over the monthly personal subscription), we still feel that Robert Parker Wine Advocate represents a relative value in the world of wine and that our reviewers’ expert advice will more than pay for itself in savvy wine buying and increased knowledge. We hope you agree.

Cheers,
The Wine Advocate Team
